Native to South America, alpacas are relative newcomers to the United States. Alpacas are gentle, curious, alert and easy to handle. They are as they say "easy keepers." Alpaca fiber is soft and warm, and does not itch as wool does. There are many organizations and associations in North America to support alpaca owners and breeders.
